Q. How much would it cost to get a replica of my home made?

A. The price is dependent on the size and detail in the house. On average, we charge about $550 for a mid-sized house with a medium amount of detail. Large houses, and brick or stone houses of a medium size go for about $650 (large brick or stone houses and elaboratly detailed homes go for more than that). Small cabins, cape cods, etc. with standard siding, brick or stone foundation, go for as little as $400. To give you an exact estimate we will need you to send a couple of photographs, and we'll reply with a exact quote within a day or two.

Q. About how big are your replicas?

A. It depends on the size of your home. The larger your home, the larger the replica has to be to be able to replicate the detail of your home. The average size replica sits on a base that is approximately 18"x22"x16" high, give or take a couple of inches either way. The less detailed models can be much smaller than that.

Q. How are these birdhouses mounted?

A. These replicas are generally pretty heavy, around 25-35 lbs. They must be mounted on a post. We will send mounting instructions with your birdhouse.

Q. Can you replicate stone and brick?

A. Yes. These are still made of wood. They are hand-carved and hand-painted. You can see examples of the brick work on the English Tudor page and the Stuart House page. You can see an example of an entire home done in stone here.

Q. How long does it take to have a replica made?

A. Usually about two weeks (not including shipping time). Sometimes it can take more or less time than that, depending on other work we have in the shop. If you have specific deadlines, you need to let us know up front.
